Guest hecatae Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 seeing as the Skate will be a 2.3 rom, and they did show a working version at MWC.
Guest fonix232 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 seeing as the Skate will be a 2.3 rom, and they did show a working version at MWC. Nope, as the phone isn't released yet :(
Guest 90180360 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) is the skate not ARMv7? No, unfortunately not. Edited March 7, 2011 by 90180360

If it has overclocked MSM7227 @800MHz, can it be overclocked more? Just wondering cause blade has MSM7227 @600MHz.

Just wondering cause blade has MSM7227 @600MHz. given our CPU's generally give problems above 700mhz, i presume the Skate's chipset would be just a better built MSM7227 set up

Guest fonix232 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I heard that ARMv6 has a limitation at 600MHz safe working frequency. And also, I heard rumours that the Skate will support Flash 10.1 (10.2) contents, so it is definitely not an ARMv6, if this rumour is true...

I really hope that it has MSM7630 or MSM7230. :( BUT Samsung Galaxy Ace (S5830) has Qualcomm QCT MSM7227-1 Turbo 800 MHz processor. And it doesn't support Flash. :( source
Guest Swiftes Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 given our CPU's generally give problems above 700mhz, i presume the Skate's chipset would be just a better built MSM7227 set up It will be a better binned chip, so the cream of the crop chips that run cooler with less voltage, so they are screened to see if they can reach 800, don't be surprised if they wont overclock further. On the plus side, they will scale nicely undervolted :(

Guest The-One Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) I've posted a video were you can hear a guy from the zte stand at the mwc saying its a MSM7227. The same chipset gives out more than 20 MFlops the Galaxy Ace, while ours gives 8 or 9. Edited March 8, 2011 by The-One
Guest wbaw Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) I think that ZTE would need to give or sell you a compiled binary copy of the kernel before you could demand the source code. Edited March 8, 2011 by wbaw
Guest Piotr__11 Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Has skate got adreno 200 like blade ? It would be nice if it were the same processor :(
