Hi,

I unlock the phone and everything was working fine I then put the original orange sim back in to check something and ever since I can not get 3G any more. I am using a three sim . I have tried different 3 sims from other phones that work fine but still it will not connect to three only orange but only 2G. Looking in the phone it is very scratched around the ariel at the bottem. Do you think it may be damaged?

i have tried different APN settings which work on my other san fransico but not on this one. Should I do a factory reset? Or root it -will that help with the problem?

Thank-you

the aerial at the bottom?

Have you lost JUST 3G or all phone signal?

try setting the phone to 3G only - settings, wireless and networks, mobile networks, network mode

and choose WCDMA only

(wcdma=3G)

Yes the aerial at the bottom

Just 3G I can still scan for them but I cannot connect to them

try setting the phone to 3G only - settings, wireless and networks, mobile networks, network mode

and choose WCDMA only

(wcdma=3G)

When I do this I get 3Uk and T-mobile Uk

I click on 3UK since I have a 3 sim and after trying to register it says:-

'Your sim does not allow a connection to this network'

BUT I am using a 3 sim it does however allow a 2G connection to orange!!!

Any ideas.

thank-you

which rom are you using?

Just the standard one that came with the orange phone. All I did was unlock it. I have now tired to root it so I can back up my data and do a factory reset.

Hi,

I've just had this issue myself. Sorted it out by following this link;

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...work-providers/

Basically, you need to tell it that 3 is an APN, or something. Mine works ok now!

I had already done this and it worked fine but now it does not work. I have done a factory reset but still the same no 3G signal . On orange I can get hspda but not 3G.

I think it must be a fault with the phone!!

HSDPA IS 3G

Sometimes known as 3.5G because its showing the data speed!

You say your using a 3 sim but can only connect to Orange on 2G

HSDPA IS 3G as stated above!

Was this using an Orange Sim? It had to be because you cannot get a 3G signal on Orange using a 3 sim

I'm confused

You say

1st post your using a 3 sim

3rd post your using an Orange sim

Which is it?

and what are you trying to do?

IF you mean your using a 3 sim but can only get 2G using it and it's showing the Orange network thats because your in a low signal area for 3

When the signal on 3 gets too low it automatically switched to Orange which it has a roaming agreement with BUT IT WILL ONLY USE 2G

The roaming agreement does NOT allow 3G using the Orange network, so while you see Orange as the signal then you'll only get 2G

Try switching the phone to WCDMA ONLY -(3G) Settings, Wireless and Networks, Mobile Networks, Network Mode

Now IF your mean something else then please elaborate on what exactly you mean and what you want to do/cant do

Right - sorry for the confusion!!

I have 2 San Francisco phones. Both are unlocked and both on 3Uk sims. The first worked fine but after putting the original orange sim back in I can no longer get 3G!!

I have put the 2 phones side by side. The first picks up 3G on the three network. The second will not connect to three it comes with the message:-

'Your sim does not allow a connection to this network'

and so it connects to orange with 2G.

I have now put the original orange 3g sim card in to see if I can pick up orange 3G but at the moment I do not think I am in an orange 3G area so at the moment is just picking up G.I will try tomorrow when I am in town to see what I can pick up.

But I still do not know why the 3 sim will not pick up 3G when it did at first and my other phone does pick it up. I have tried different 3 sims and different APN and nothing works. So is it possible that 3G could be broken or would it mean I would not pick up any signal? I don't really understand how a phone works. Or could 3 have blocked the phone?

Thanks for any help and advice

I am having the same type of problems here...

for testing I have 2 x ZTE Blade phones both running Modaco R12 (one has the older kitchen, the other I think is the TFT model)

Nokia N80 (from the was a three phone)

Using the Three sim in the ZTE is really bad, at times the phone does not have signal or cant connect to provider.

If I put the same in in the Nokia, Full Bars ?

Now if I put the O2 SIM in the both ZTE blades signal is fine ..... (cant use the sim in nokia)

I get like now - "Selected network (3 UK) unaviliable"
