Guest sandanpa Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) The Nvidia Tegra has a ARM 7 processor core inside. => Nvidia Tegra 2 then click on view more. So CPU is ARM7 Cortex A9 ...thats good but still were are my 512 MB of RAM ,it shows 372 and have 50MB free , is it possible that MCR add-on does not detect it all or....? Guest warriorscot Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 It's only showing you the available memory not the total memory, it obviously can't access the memory reserved for the OS so it isn't including it in the total.

Guest warriorscot Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 there is no such thing as reserved memory for RAM ( to be reserved you should have a separate memory module and there is no such thing on any tablet or computer ),from this 373MB SO uses like 200 so in best cases i have 170MB free but usually its like 50 You can reserve memory space on lots of operating systems, it after all is just a big high speed memory buffer you can use it whatever way you want. In this case the system detection is only showing what its being allowed to see as usable memory. The extra memory exists but is obviously reserved for a dedicated process in this case the operating system. You dedicate or reserve memory for performance reasons or stability for critical resource so if you have an OS that you know needs to have a certain minimum amount of memory to properly operate so you reserve an area of memory for that. It could be done in hardware if the OS is tightly integrated on a per module basis or more usually virtually within the OS. It could also be that the ram and internal memory are being incorrectly identified so a scan is only showing the available free space that isn't write protected or partitioned. Lots of reasons but mainly you have 512Mb it is just not being displayed correctly by the software.
Guest sandanpa Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Where are you getting those numbers? Was doing a benchmark and it wrote system specs so I instlaled Android System Info. And and it shows the same 373
