Newbie says Hi

Hey there Guys,

I just wanted to say what a fantastic place this is & so far it's schooled me well in the art of understanding

ROMS, Clockwork, Apps etc....

My first experience at installing a rom was flawless. USB'd Clockwork onto my gf's White OSF

then followed the guide to install seb404's de orangeated R8 & the update. Her OSF is awesome

now that all the orange junk is gone & she's had no problems at all getting to grips with it all.

My second experience has been a bit of a nightmare. After seeing how easy things went she

ordered me an OSF (this happened to be the black model-which I now fear lol)

Clockwork install had to be done differently (as the vol up, Power button combo didn't work)

...Cut a long story short I think I got a screwy OSF as I only managed to get the touchscreen

working 3 times throughout the whole day. Being a bit of a newbie I thought i'd screwed up

somehow, I tried all the best ROMS from Seb404's R8 to his latest, JJRLS9,MCR yet still no

joy !!!

A sore thumb from battery removal (thanks to a faulty touchscreen) and a great understanding

of all things Clockwork & ROM related I now feel confident that when my replacement OSF comes

I should have no problems at all. (the replacement happens to be a white one yay)

I since restored the ORANGE stock rom. Am now awaiting my replacement.

*PS: I want to thank the guys what run this great forum & also send thanks to the makers

of custom ROMS. When I feel a little braver (and know i've got a phone without a touchscreen Hardware fault)

I will seriously consider buying a Baked MCR from the kitchen, it looks sweet. I'm just a little nervous from

this bad experience ...so for now i'm going for the clean bare bones de-orangeated r8 by Seb404
