Hi there,

I know this is a hassle but I have been trying for hours and my mac doesn't seem to register any occurences and my PC believes the driver does not need to be updated. How does the command prompt work? I am pretty useless and fed up at this point, and still very desperate to get the new Rom on my vega. I've followed the video guides and it just doesn't seem to work? I may need it spelled out ridiculously slow :(

Hi

Don't try to update the drivers, try this.

No need for the command prompt.

If you're using Vista/Windows 7 (always give details when asking for help), it's similar to XP. I'll produce a specific guide shortly.

Lifesaver, thank you, I will try that after I've finished a final year essay, or I won't get the essay done (a la last night!). Is it relatively the same for vista? If it is really different I can borrow an XP.

It's pretty much the same. Main difference is in the guide, it tells you to uninstall the driver then go to "Add Hardware" in the control panel. In Vista, you uninstall the driver, then right click your computer, at the top of the device tree, and select "Add legacy hardware". The key points are to not try to update the driver but to uninstall it then install manually and to not let Windows search for a driver or install one automatically.

Good luck with the finals...

Hint. You probably will do it all again :( If you're inclined to tinker, get into the habit of backing up. There will come a point when a rebuild is either desired or required and you will quickly grow tired of downloading enough apps to fill up the Vegas' belly again.
