Guest Soulcalibur76 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Hi I'm buying a 2.2 Android tablet names Advent Vega (UK) this weekend. i noticed sadly it doesn't have the full Android Market in it. my questions is not more on customising or modifying as i am still an intermediate on that aspect and being a bit "afraid" of modding my device. what good alternative launcher can i install on my device to make the scrolling of stuff more fluid and smooth? and will i be able to remove the icons on the main bottom screen if i install a launcher? and can i still install the Android Market apk after installing a launcher? or would you still recommend modding the device? Thanks.
Guest steviesteve Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Getting the market running and installing an alternative launcher is nice and easy - spend some time reading through the forums and it'll all make sense. You cant really break it doing these two things. Basically, you put a file on the memory card, select it using the built in file manager and everything else is plain sailing. I personally use ADW launcher, it's very smooth and very customisable for a freebie.

If you do the market install, you can grab all sorts from the offical marketplace. Restoring the software if things go wrong is just a case of downloading the OS file from myadventvega site - there's nothing illegal or wrong with doing so. If you want to get try a bit of customisation, read through the thread with VegaTools - it's a great piece of software that really makes things much easier. Guest steviesteve Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 so, basically without modding the device is it possible to download an app (off the internet) or an apk even without modding it? Yeah - you could download an .apk file using the devices browser and install using the file manager - you'd be much safer and find it much easier installing the marketplace through Vega Tools though.
