1.06 with MCR + PP vs 1.09 - is it worth it?

Hi all

I'm running my Vega on the stock 1.06 it shipped with plus Paul's MCR mod and the updated drivers (PP). Whilst my Vega works fine with only minor issues, I'm wondering whether it's worth updating to 1.08/9 with the latest Paul MCR mod?

The couple of niggles I have are:

1. Battery meter drops rapidly from 50% to 18%. Is this a common problem? I'm sure I read something on this somewhere, but cant recall if there was a fix?

2. Surfing web pages are a little jerky - nothing major, but could be smoother

3. Max volume is at 50% and then doesn't increase in volume any further up to 100%

4. iPlayer audio is sometimes out of sync (dont use this much, so not really a problem)

Can someone tell me if it's worth updating, and if so, what the benefits are over my current set up? Are any of the above ironed out with the update?

I've spent some time getting the apps as I'd like them, so if the update is worth it, is there a way of updating but recovering my apps as I currently have?

Cheers

Sach

Yes update! the benefits of updating are far too numerous to detail, but the whole device runs so much better/smoother.

If you get really adventurous then you can also flash Buzz Kernel and see how smooth web surfing can get :(

Thanks for the quick confirmation Lennyuk.

Can you comment on how I can keep my existing settings etc, and if possible, a quick guide to updating?

Thanks

best way to keep your settings would be to install titanium backup from the market, and backup everything you feel you want to keep (apps and settings).

Then read the guides on this site to know how to flash the newer rom, easiest way is via clockwork mod recovery which can be easily installed via the app "rom manager" also in the market.
