Guest btm126 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Just installed clockworkmod following the method to do it just on the phone. I rooted (told me I was already rooted) so forced root again. Then I rebooted and it wouldn't let me run recovery manager as not rooted. So I rooted again but didn't reboot this time, and was able to run recovery manager and flash clockworkmod. However, on reboot it wont let me run recover manager again, and appears to have lost root again. Is this normal? Am I OK to flash a custom ROM, an will the custom ROM give meet root back, or do I need to get permanent root before flashing a new rom. Thanks
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 This is normal, a problem often found with the stock ROM. Other ROMS are already rooted (assuming they are not stock, eg, froyo cyanogen) and do not loose their root. I also had this problem, and am sure many others have, and since my first New roms ive never needed to root again
Guest btm126 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Thanks - flashed Jellyfish so all OK.
