Do i really have R8?

Ok I should have had R8 installed the other day but im starting to think i have not had it install as ive seen a pic of what i should have on my Tablet with R8 and i dont like google Maps and talk and voice search and also USB Switch.

The details that are on mine are

Model number VEGA

Android Version 2.2

EC Version 1.9.0

Kernel version 2.6.32.9_P10_v1.09_20110211_DIX

just that a lot of what i should have on i dont.

I have Market.

You seem to be on v1.09 version. To get the R8 with all pre-installed apps like Google Maps etc. you need to become a premium member of this forum as mentioned in the line:-

"This online kitchen is currently only available to my MoDaCo premium members (those who have signed up to MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus)."

Then when you install R8 they will all be ready for use. As it is I'm not quite sure where you got v1.09 from but you should still be able to install the apps you want manually from the Market but you won't be able to get the performance pack or other nice tweaks that Paul and the rest of Modaco contributors have provided.

or you can install r8 with default options from Pauls thread here

The first post shows what you get by default - if you want to stray from the default at all then you'll need to sign up for Ad free or a plus account so you can use the kitchen to customise it.

Strange one as i took it to a pc shop for them to do it and they install Market on it.

So where would they have got Market from?

There is somewhere a thread that says how to get Market on standard ROM.

Why would you take it to a shop? There are more than a few guides and lots of advice on doing it yourself. The most complicated bit isn't even anything to do with the vega its windows drivers and if you don't use windows its even easier.
