Guest Jekle Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Well I have an OLED Orange San Francisco and I might be buying a white SF and I was wondering is it possible to Take the OLED screen out from the Black One and then installed it into the TFT One? Thanks.
Guest mcfischsam Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 you could also just switch the covers of your two phones ..
Guest GX390 Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Don't see the point to be honest considering the OLED one is hardly any better
Guest Carlos Abel Chavez Slim Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Can't you just put the old phone on top of your new phone and sellotape them together?
Guest fonix232 Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Paul did it :( So it is definitely possible!
Guest Azurren Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Paul did it :( So it is definitely possible! It is defiantly possible (And quite easy if you know what your doing) But the last 2 users who took apart their blades couldn't get the touchscreens working on reassembly :( So unless you know what your doing I wouldn't recommend it

Guest fonix232 Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 I have a better idea: swap your OLED with my TFT :( Then you got two TFT ones -> No problem.

Guest simonsays1 Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 I'm sure it's possible to swap the screens, but I think it would be much easier to swap the case covers if want your OLED in a white case.

Guest aequalszero Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Agreed. Use the video! Yikes - looks super-fiddly, especially during reassembly. During the transition phase between OLED and TFT models, lots of the ROMs here had two versions - one for each screen type. If this is indeed possible (and apparently has been done before) there's no problem with the stock Orange ROM running a TFT model's firmware on an OLED screen then? Or is this hack also dependant on the OP adding a custom ROM?
