O2 Sim in San Francisco/ZTE Blade - "No SIM Card" Message

Hi,

Just bought a San Fran on Orange PAYG. Successfully unlocked it this morning & it is working with my T-Mobile SIM (although, ironically, roaming on orange at present.!).

I bought it for the other half to use with her O2 SIM, but after the initial excitement of her unwrapping it (b/day prezzie), when I put the O2 SIM in, I'm getting the message "No SIM Card".

I have seen various posts about manually inputting APN settings for O2, but none of the posts seem to indicate that the SIM is showing as not found. Does she need a new O2 SIM, or would the settings shown Here do the trick?

Any thoughts, gratefully received.

Bodie

and although silly as this may sound make sure you've got the sim card facing the right way

the corner cut out facing down towards the bottom of the phone

Thanks for the replies guys, but SIM card definitely inserted the correct way & contacts work the other 2 SIMs I hcan use in the phone (the original Orange one + my T-Mobile one).

So can I take it that the No SIM message shouldn't be happening? I could work through the changes recommended in the previously mentioned link, but just want to make sure I'm going about things the right way. I'm guessing it is a problem with the SIM & may order a new one later today or tomorrow, unless anyone has any other thoughts/ideas?

Thanks again

Further Update - Followed this advice in an earlier thread.

I seemed to have had the same problem today, i took my 02 sim out to put in another phone so i could receive a good mms picture, but when i put it back in to the sf it wouldn't give any signal, and said sim not inserted, i put an orange sim in and it worked fine. So i took out the orange sim and put the 02 sim back in but no luck, i the took out battery and 02 sim, I inserted the 02 sim again, then waited about 30 sec and replaced the battery and managed to get a signal. Don't know if it will be any use to you but just thought it might work if it did for me.

Put my SIM in and waited about 2 mins before replacing battery and turning on the phone and....BINGO. Signal at last. Looking at other posts, seems to be a problem with O2 SIMs in particular.

Thanks again for taking time to reply guys. Hope this thread helps someone else out.
