Guest Ollie1132 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 When I try to update I get a status 7 error. What should I do to sort this?
Guest EddyOS Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 - Are you rooted? - Did you debrand from an operator ROM?
Guest SirGaz Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 When I try to update I get a status 7 error. What should I do to sort this? I wouldn't worry too much, 1.84 is now out for T-Mobile UK users, Vodaphone to follow shortly. Unbranded phones though will not get the update. I've got it installing on my phone as I type. It's supposed to make a few battery improvements, the colours are more vibrant, tweaks to the camera and a few other small changes
Guest Ollie1132 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 My DHD is GoldCarded With supercid, rooted and engineer hbooted. The reason i want 1.72 is purely because i like the stock ROM setup but with root obviously. Im not sure why it doesnt let me update. it did before but i had to downgrade due to a SU issue.
Guest EddyOS Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 You can't apply an OTA update to a rooted phone, you'll need an RUU/custom ROM to update
Guest Ollie1132 Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Umm yes you can...You can't apply an OTA update to a rooted phone, you'll need an RUU/custom ROM to update Yes you can. Theres guides for it... Such as here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...996&page=22
Guest EddyOS Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) Status error 7 is down to the OTA not being able to be installed, normally due to gold card not working. With the original Desire HTC changed the last OTA so unless you have an official unbranded handset you couldn't apply the update - regardless of gold card. Might be the same issue here Edited March 21, 2011 by EddyOS
