Guest headholio Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Hi all, I am the proud new owner of an Acer Liquid E originally branded by Rogers. I have been reading through these forums trying to figure out exactly what I want to do, and ended up installing the Malez recovery, and then rooting the phone. Now, I was trying to read through the available ROMS to see if one caught my eye. What I am looking for is a Froyo ROM as close to stock as possible, with all bloatware uninstalled (I like to install my own apps), rooted, overclocked (if possible, but not to sacrifice stability). Now, I want everything to work, camera, camcorder, bluetooth, wifi, etc since this is my main daily phone. Does such a rom exist? Also, I wanted to shout out to all the devs for working on these roms, thanks guys!!!

Guest HustlinDaily Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) 4.008.08.EMEA.VFIT is pretty much stock Android 2.2.2 with Acer Dialer and Acer Contacts (which I like personally). If you find a ROM based on that (ie. fear_4.008.08 or T&L_4.008.08), you should be good. Both of those ROMs have alot of stock apps removed (T&L has pretty much EVERYTHING removed), and you can easily install whatever you want or uninstall whatever you want (using Titanium Backup). Gonna warn you tho, I think that there is a bug in new Acer ROMs which cause the proximity sensor to drain the battery quicker than it should. As far as Overclock goes, I can confirm that the one by keera in the T&L thread works with fear_4.008.08 and am assuming that it will work with T&L as well. Gonna warn you, overclock can drain the battery fast (I am just the type of person who is always near a charger). Edited March 13, 2011 by HustlinDaily
Guest styjp Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 A good start would be the LCR-F 2 rom and the T&L one. As I am a real fan of "smoothness" I currently use Liquid Galaxy v2.1 which is based on older versions (LCR 1.8) but is pretty much the fastest rom available for Liquid A1 and fully working. You wont regret it :D
Guest headholio Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks guys. I will give them a shot. Just gotta find the time to do this. The wife hates when I start "playing" with my phone.

Well, when your wife isn't looking you can try CM6.1 too :D Or CM7 if you are willing to go from 2.2 to 2.3 :(
Guest headholio Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I am willing to move to Gingerbread, but the rom has to be fully working. So far, none of them are fully working. When I got this phone, it had kang's CM7, and I had no radio, and wifi wouldn't work, and the touchscreen had dead sections on the side and bottom. Made the phone pretty useless to me. Maybe if I had a backup phone I wouldn't mind testing out experimental roms but this is my only phone so no. Now LeoGingerbread is looking promising....almost fully working.....just no working camcorder yet.
