Guest GoodGosh Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Hi there, I just bought Swiftkey and when I go to type a message the application starts for a second and then stops. I've chosn it as my main keyboard in Settings so I don't know what could be wrong. Hope you can help me out, thanks for any advice
Guest GoodGosh Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Sorry for being a total newb but I seen this answer on another forum, Try reinstalling and deleting the "swiftkey" folder on your phone. I just uninstalled Swiftkey but where would I find the folder to delete it please? Thanks

Guest GoodGosh Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Hi HMZX, thanks for replying. I managed to resolve it now. I used Astro to find the SD card and deleted it but I don't think that was the problem now as there is a step in the installation process that I missed because it's slightly confusing. After choosing to install and then Enable Swiftkey I was supposed to press the back button on the phone even though on the actuall sreeen there is a Next button after Enabling so naturally I was pressing that. I think they should just insert the Back button themselves instead of the Next button as that doesn't proceed with proper installation. Lol I hope that made sense Thanks again
Guest sambartle Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Yeah a lot of keyboards have confusing installations like that Swype used to be the same, though its better in later versions. There actually seems to be a bit of a bug in Android which causes the behaviour you were seeing as well independent of the specific keyboard. I've seen it on a couple of different devices.. Not sure what it is, but either a reboot or de-enabling and re-enabling the keyboard usually seems to solve it.
