Guest DunderHassan Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) Something very strange happened today, while playing Slice on my blade. After a few minutes I pressed the power button to lock it and then went away for a short while. The phone was lying on the table, all alone. When I came back the screen didn't turn on when pressing the power button. Removed the battery and inserted it, nothing. No vibrate, no boot screen, nothing. I can't even boot to the recovery screen. I also tried to power it on while connected to USB, without a battery, but it doesn't work. The computer did recognize the phone (said it successfully installed drivers), but it doesn't appear anywhere in the computer. I have obviously charged it for a while, and it seems to charge (the LED turns red). The strange thing here is that when I charged it a little and then tried to power it on, no charger connected, the LED turns red, but that's it. Nothing else works. I don't know what to do, I would really appreciate any help you can offer! I wish I just could boot to recovery screen and reflash. It's running froyo 2.2, don't really know which release but I've had it with no trouble for almost 3 months. Edited March 13, 2011 by DunderHassan
Guest Azurren Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Does the power button still feel like its working? You could try removing the back cover and try powering it up manually (Tiny press switch that the power button presses) But tbh this looks like a refurb job :S

It also turns red and stay that way when trying to boot with battery. Can't *** believe this, it works perfectly for almost a half year and then suddenly die, just like that? Well, never gonna buy a phone from abroad and lose the warranty again. Edited March 14, 2011 by DunderHassan
Guest wbaw Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 (edited) i suppose you've taken the battery out & left it out for a while, then tried. tried without the sd card & without the sim card? sounds like it's dead if you can't even get the green android splash screen. you could try a tpt install, like the jj9 image install, it might work, put the files on your sd card & try powering on with vol + held. make sure you leave it for 10 minutes after doing that, even if you get nothing on the screen at first. otherwise it's some hardware problem. it depends where you bought the phone from if you've got any chance of a replacement. if you bought it from a shop or a large trader based in the eu, then you might have some luck. if you bought it from a private seller on ebay, not much chance. otherwise you could get a friend or a shop or someone to try to repair it. i'm pretty sure that blades are available in sweden now anyway, if you need to buy a new one that will be easy to replace if it breaks. you should be able to get some money on ebay for it, if somebody wants to buy it for parts. Tried this tpt install and it actually did boot and install the image, with the green text appearing and all, but when it finished the screen turned black and that red led still lights (also during the install). Don't know if I dare removing the battery, but it have been a while now. Edit: Removed the battery and then booted without the SD-card, but still nothing. The LED turns red and no vibrate. Guest bravoj Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Try connecting it to your charger then push the reset button that's located just above the sim card. (you'll need to use something thin to push the button)

(you'll need to use something thin to push the button) Connected the charger and pushed the button for about 10 secs, the red led turned off during that time, but the problem stays :D Phoenix Silver: The reset button was just above the SIM slot, no button below the battery, at least in my phone. Guest DunderHassan Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 *bump* Can't I use the SDK to force boot or something with USB?
Guest DunderHassan Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) Could your Vol+ be stuck? In that case it would have done an tpt-install when only pressing the menu button and booting, which it didn't, so I guess it's not stuck. Edited March 15, 2011 by DunderHassan

Guest DunderHassan Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 i'd go for a replacement you might get an OLED one back! Guess I have to go for that, unfortunately I don't live in the UK so it will take a while. Well, that would be good, if I didn't already have an OLED, so if I'm unlucky it will be a TFT? :D (yes, I have tried the TFT-model and I very much prefer OLED) Since this tpt install does work, will it fully restore my phone if I install a stock image before sending it in for a replacement? I've "installed" CW and fastboot before flashing ROMs. Also, do Orange accept copies of receipts? Thanks for all your help.
Guest DunderHassan Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Still need some help here, since I'm not sure if I did fully restore the phone. I tried two ways to TPT, by PC (link to thread) and directly in the phone with sd-card. When doing it by PC, it seems the OEM bootloader fails to download. When I put the image in my sd-card and TPT in the phone, it pass the system.img and I can see it "install userdata.img" but then the screen dies and don't know if the installation completed. What do you think? Am I safe to send it for a replacement?
Guest Numizmatus Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 On russian forum i saw one identical problem. SF rebouted and red led blinks. no happy end also.
Guest DunderHassan Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 On russian forum i saw one identical problem. SF rebouted and red led blinks. no happy end also. What a pity :( I've also tried with another battery, and also used my battery in another blade, only to see that it wasn't the problem. Seems I have no choice but to send it back to UK and hope for a replacement. Really hope that the TPT did restore it, otherwise I'll be wasting way too much money on this **** :D
Guest DunderHassan Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Sorry for bumping this, but seriously, noone who know if my phone is restored or not? I'm not really up to sending it there and back and perhaps paying some fees because the warranty is voided, especially for a cheap phone like this. To sum it up, the TPT did install some files and system.img, when it get to userdata.img the screen goes black. Are there any more critical files to be installed? What's your guess, will it be covered by the warranty?
