Noob question about SMS messages

I'm looking for some help please. I'm sure there is a simple answer to this!!

When you receive a SMS, E-Mail or you miss a call, a little icon pops up in the notification (or Status) bar for each type of message (SMS, E-Mail, Missed call)

Whwen you put down the notification bar, you are then presented with a list of the of the messages, seperated by a divider, depending on what type of messing has been received.

Now,

What I would like to know is if it is possible to have that info displayed in a window or box on one of the 5 Homescreens that are available on an Android phone?

Do I need an app or a widget for that?

I don't want to change the layout or colour scheme or anything, like can be done with Handcent etc.

is this possible? My GF has a HTC desire and she has a widget to dio this. It ios only possible with Sense?

Thanks!!!!

I use pure messenger to display missed calls, emails, and txts on one of my homescreens. Lots of options to fiddle with.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies guys :D

Sorry for the delayed response, having started the thread at work, I then found myself unable to get access to my the thread because the web filters at my work blocked access because "SMS" was in the title. LOL!!! (I work in a School)

Pheonix Silver, Thanks!!. Sorry, I should have mentioned previously, for some weird reason, I've been unable to get LP to work on my phone?? I am using ADW at the moment, but I did install LP last week, only to find that no matter what I did, I couldn't get access to any internet services while LP was installed (No Browser, Market conection) I have no idea why, I tried all sorts of things to resolve the problem, but failed, so rolled back to ADW & all was working again.

Flibb, O.k. Thanks for that!! I'll have a go with that then :(

Thanks again for your help!!!!!
