Just tried both the update.zip via streakdroid recovery and runnin' the update.pkg with manual superuser.zip root via streakdroid and no root. First time an app tries to gain su, it fails.

I'll keep trying.

Funkay

EDIT: It was just titanium backup. Everything else is golden.

Yeah, everything with the exception of Titanium Back Up works. Says something about Busy Box. Not sure what Busy Box is or does, but other than that i'm rooted and golden on the 2.2.2. Love the new Sense UI! Don't think I will be going back to Launcher Pro because of how smooth sense is now. In love with my Streak all over again!

I am new to the Android Platform and must say it has been a bit of a learning curve. I have downloaded your update. I am currently using a unlocked streak with 2.2 and a 318 build.

Do I just do your download and then move it to the Sd Card and reboot to make it work. Please be kind to me.

You meant to say new Stage UI right?

I know that these releases are the official ones, but can anyone explain to me the difference or advantages of installing this over Steve's 1.x.x versions?

Such a n00b, I know, but I really have no idea.

Thanks,

10x...

Thanks for any help you can give

if u r using windows

- Connect phone to pc in fastboot mode.

-open command prompt in the folder where your fastboot files are ( should be in tools folder in the sdk installed directory)

- Type fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img

click enter

There are some good installation guides here and in xda . Might be worth reading them before starting

there are really no disadvantages. the the difference with steve's 1.x.x is that his is more customized and has had some performance tweaks but the tweaks are not so major that it is going to make device act any different . it might run a little more smooth. as new official updates come out the dell streak has become better and better i have always tested all of steve's software and i like them but after a week i always go back to an official copy of the software i feel they run with no issues. they may not run as snappy but no Force close or glitches.

Sorry for asking very stupid question.

Does this replace new rooted ROM or just adds superuser access in existing ROM.

Thanks.
