Guest dundee18 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I create a 12.5 GB fat32 partition and 2.5gb ext2 partion on a 16GB card using Easeus partion master software. Both primary partitions. Put sd card back into Vega nd Link2sd does not recognise the ext2 partition. It gives the error "Make sure you have ext2 partition on your SD card. You cannot create link without ext2 partition." I have tried rebooting a couple of times and unmounitng and remounting the card but still the same error. I used version 7.0.1.0 of the Easeus software and version 1.3.1 of the Link2sd software. The version that is in the r8 modaco rom that Paul created. I have searched the forum but not found anything with this specific error. Any help greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Dundee18
Guest Minimonkey Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I created mine in clockwork recovery works fine. Make sure you don't have any other move to SD programs on like Add2SD as mine errored when I had that on.

Not aware of any other such apps on Vega as I have only flashed with Paul's rom and have not installed any similar app. Thanks
Guest davethechamp Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I just got this working today! I encountered a similar issue untill I read the help, and it mentions the fat32 partition needs to be at the start of the card with the ext2 after it. Also after the initial boot after installing the card, I once again rebooted and it worked! hope this helps
Guest remlap Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) Got this running on my Vega and ZTE Blade wonderful app on both considering both devices are lacking in internal storage for applications. Edited March 15, 2011 by remlap

Guest Minimonkey Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 what does this do? jus seen this on my vega last night and was curious Allows you to move apps to the SD card so you can free space on the internal memory
Guest Vansphone Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Allows you to move apps to the SD card so you can free space on the internal memory I have this app running on my Vega but I do not know what advantage it has over using Application Manager. Application manager moves (most) apps to the FAT32 part of my card, Link2sd moves them to the ext2 part of the card, but what is the advantage? Thanks

Thanks From my limited understanding, you can only move apps to the FAT32 partition that the developer allows you to move, which are currently not that many. The ext2 partition is the same format as the Android operating system and therefore you can move all the apps to the ext2 partition and the Link2sd app then has a like from the tablet OS to the app on the SD card. It therefore frees up your memory on the tablet. Think that is right. Not sure if there are some apps that are best to be kept on the tablet itself. I am sure someone more knowledgable than me can answer that one.

Quite often it will tell you not to move them in the market description.

Guest ViPaSoft Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) I got this working, until black screen of death, with a 1 gb ext2 partition, i believe it can only cope with upto 2 gb. Hi, I have created a 1gb ext2 partition using easeus 7.1.1. I have placed the partition after the FAT32 one. I am using an 8gb class 6 card. I have rebooted a couple of times and still get the; 'Auto-mount script error' and under the storage section of SD Card ext2 it just states N/A. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. EDIT: Sorted thanks, I forgot to make the partition 'primary', I had left it as 'logical' Edited March 27, 2011 by ViPaSoft
