Guest Davidben83 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Hi all, I have followed this forum closely for a few months now before deciding to go and buying the Vega when I was in the airport a few days ago. I have installed the custom rom (which does make the device much better) but have decided to return it. I think that it is really good value for money but the viewing angles just are not great (and that is because the screen technology is not as good as on other tablets, not the brightness) and the colours look a bit washed out. I have a Samsung Wave which has an amazing screen and can perfectly compentely browse the net. I therefore can not justify the purchase particularly and will wait a year or so and see what is out then for the same price. I would therefore be very very grateful if someone could kindly point me in the direction of the stock rom so I can get it back to how it was when I purchased it prior to returning it to the store. I have looked but can not find it. Please! Thank you,

Guest Davidben83 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/ Looking there thanks. Do I just reinstall v1.09? Thanks, I know that you did not have to bother.

Guest sjt.a3b Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I get what you're saying about not being fully happy, there are a few bugs with the vega, but if you look at it like that you'll never buy anything. In a years time, what you will get for £250 will be comparable to tablets then as the vega is to tablets now. Its a great tablet that isnt perfect but is really reasonably priced and with the great dev's here and elsewhere will get even better. no matter what electronic product you get, a year down the line there will always be something better for exactly what you paid, so next year when you're thinking about getting a cheap tablet for £250, dont think what will be out the following year, you'll decide not to buy and could be missing out :D
Guest Davidben83 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Totally. But the difference is I guess is that I think that the markets for tablets is still very immature. I think that in a year there will be a host of companies offering tablets in a very competitive market, and therefore while the Vega may constitute good value now, I think in a year, the baseline of what good value is will have risen beyond what one would normaly expect (i.e. faster processor) to reflect the increased competition.
Guest pdej Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I'm not sure you are right. Look at netbooks-barely any differences in specs in real terms yet there is a baseline price and they only seem to get more expensive. For that reason and the fact i love my vega i think they are great.
