Guest xeyaztian Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I bought a ZTE Blade from Orange when they launched. It broke. I've now bought a ZTE Blade, the only difference I know is... its white. Will this ROM still work with it, and is there any difference except colour? http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-for-zte-blade/ If you know there's a thread with this mentioned then link the thread, do not suggest the search feature! :D

The name tells you if the rom is compatible with the type of screen you have [ROM][OLED+TFT] FLB-Froyo G2 for ZTE Blade, Latest version r10b - 1st March 2011 this rom supports both OLED, and TFT screens
Guest What_The_Fox_Hat Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 How would the case cover affect the type of ROM you can flash? The answer is yes i believe - it certainly works on my white San Fran (TFT screen)

Thanks for the great answer, also shame as the one that broke was OLED, and the screen was very good quality! I suppose if I just looked closer at the title of the ROM it would of answered my main questions! Anyway thanks again, it has answered my question!

Guest Lew247 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 There is so little difference in the oled and the new led versions of the blade that you won't notice it I had to install a rom on my brother in laws phone abt 2 weeks ago and it was a new led one and I couldn't tell the difference other than I knew it was led and not oled (said it on the box)

Do you mean TFT?
Guest HMZX Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 new LED models? Do you mean TFT? yeah he probably meant TFT LCD :D
Guest deksman2 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 yeah he probably meant TFT LCD :D Probably. I got myself a white one. It was £10 cheaper than the black version, and to be honest, from a hardware point of view, they are identical (I can easily get myself an extra rubber-like coating to fit the casing in a different color for more 'protection' if needed. Everything works fine on mine (for now). I was able to unlock online using it's IMEI about 15mins after I got it, and I just recently flashed the Modaco Custom r12 ROM onto it. Aside from the fact the ROM in question comes with numerous pre-installed apps I don't need/use, it works fine. I would prefer a basic/clean 2.2 rom myself, and I guess I'll have to learn to edit the ROM file appropriately.
Guest FrownBreaker Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 I bought a ZTE Blade from Orange when they launched. It broke. It the OLED Disply works but the glass for the touch sensor is cracked there are new ones on ebay for £20ish. You and remove the broken touch sensor and replace. If the OLED screen is also broken then repair is uneconomic, best to sell for spare on ebay. There is the 2gb card, the phones, or sell the lot on ebay.

Use titanium backup (which is included on modaco r12) to delete any apps you dont want, and yes i do mean any apps. BTW your phone will have still been in warranty, thus if you'd rung up orange they would have sent a courier with a new phone to swap for the broken one completely free. Obviously you have now bought a new phone, but you could still get your old one repaired just to sell on yourself.
