Guest tobyfield Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I had a look on the Orange website today and they have more accessories available for the SPV including; Spare Battery Car Charger Serial Cable Travel Charger Stereo Handsfree Serial Sync Station USB Snyc Station USB Cable As you'd expect from orange, the prices are over the top. Take a look at http://shop.orange.co.uk/NASApp/esales/esales
Guest SirGaz Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 £50 for a spare battery, you have got to be joking.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 100 bux 4 the camera...Orange are indeed taking the piss - im just glad i bought all that s*** that came with the spv in the introductory offer!!!
Guest hotphil Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 check out www.freedom-mobiles.co.uk for better prices - my charger for desk at work arriving tomorrow apparently.
Guest jcinfo Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 In france orange release ANYTHING !!!!!!!!
Guest Deemon Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 so its £40 found the sync station and another £25 for the charger ? what a con !
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 They also state that the cradle charges as well, I wonder if they forgot the fact that you need the charger plugged in as well :) Or have the cradles been modded like some of us have done?
Guest Big Ron - No Longer a Mem Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 In france orange release ANYTHING !!!!!!!! Strange. I bought my (11 year old) son an Ericsson T300 two weeks back - 99p with "every goody going thrown-in" from Scancom.co.uk. The smartcard reader that came with it (for the MP3 Player and the included 32 meg SD card!) was obsolete: Parallel port and no XP drivers. So I bought the USB "Six in One" card reader from www.ebuyer.com for £10.21. No price visible on the French site... I've commended the same gadget to my (75 year old) Mum to use with her digital camera.
Guest vadonald Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 check out www.freedom-mobiles.co.uk for better prices - my charger for desk at work arriving tomorrow apparently. Better prices than Orange, but then thats not difficult, suggest anyone who wants car charger goes to PDA Add-ons on EBAY, as suggested on other messages and on Born Sloppy's web site. It costs about £16 including delivery, and it is also a USB charger / connector too. As for freedoms MMC / SD prices  :x several places are much cheaper than that. Cheers, Vince
Guest Thurstan Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I must also big up PDAaddons. Bought off ebay for the first time and was more than satisfied with the service. Got a car charger/USB cable charger which I now use in the car and to sync at work. Absolutely brilliant, took two days to get to me, works better than my spare cradle and I don't have to cart around my spare charger either!
Guest sonnypanesar Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I bought an xda serial cable from Carphone Warehouse for £12.99 as opposed to £29.99 on the orange website.
Guest SirGaz Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Has anyone added up the price of these accessories? If you add up the stuff that we got free in the box, the total comes to a whopping £259.93 and that does not include the actual phone  Then there is the price of the manuals and box and packaging (not much I know, but it all adds up). At least Orange did one good thing and massively subsidise this phone so that we can all enjoy it rather a few rich kids.
Guest benny Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Its a bit like a car if you think of it...ten grand for the whole thing, or about half a million if you try to make it up from replacement parts! B
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 the SPV's retailing at 200 quid now, 150 on upgrade, so you're looking at about 450 quid for what we got in the box for £0-£129.99 :)
