blade doesn't turn on any more

i look at the charger hummmm 12 volt DC output

very strange this output on a usb port ??????

anyway blade seems toasted

it seems that i need to go to orange's shop Saturday for an exchange

(under warranty orange don't need to know what i have done)

only problem i need the blade tomorrow for navigation (yes i can google map and write the directions but i'm at 3 places tomorrow for the job)

Are you sure that it was a 12v output and not input? All USB devices operate at 5v, so that would be strange. If it was 12v however, then the chances are that you've broken the power regulator or something on the Blade. Pretty much impossible to repair I'd say, so it looks like you'll need to exchange it under the warranty.

IF it was definitely 12V output and you plugged the blade into it - say bye to it

there is no way to recover from that you'll have fried the inside.

Done this as well using an ebay in car charger on my sons sf ,fried the guts out of it by using it in the lorry at work. Its 24v but funny that it never mattered with my nokia 5800 or any other phone that i have used over the years ,maybe its the charger itself but i aint prepared to risk any more phones .

The only other appliance i have killed like this is a portable tv ,i went through 3 of those before i gave up. :D

The lorry has a voltage dropper but the ciggy lighter output is 24v, maybe its the chinese build quality.

i was a little stupid too :D

it was written on the charged DC Output 12 V

even if it has an usb output to plug an usb cable .. very strange......)

I'd like to buy a car-charger for my SF, too. After reading this thread, I am a little bit scared about which one to buy.

Anyone tried the Car Charger sold on Amazon UK by eMartBuy?? Or what car-charger would you recommend?

look at output DC

if output DC isn't written on the charger don't plug your blade in

mA doesn't matter can be 1000 or 2000 or 3000 mA or whatever

if output DC is superior than 5V don't plug your blade in (doesn't do like me :D )

I've bought this one on amazon.de (as your flag states you live in Germany).

No problems so far with my OSF, and the price is unbeatable (2,99 € + 1,20 € shipment)
