Guest Muncles Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) hi i have the orange san francisco. i am on the orange network so i havent debranded my phone yet. i have read that some of the custom roms give you vga recording with 12-25 fps. is this true? i have cif recording and i get about 13fps on a clear day. i have the lg camera app which boosts the size upto nearly wvga but the frame rate is still 8-9 if i am lucky. if i install a custom rom can i boost the framerate or is it not worth it? i have the b10 version. thanks :D Edited March 19, 2011 by Muncles

Guest Muncles Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 um.. what on earth have you been reading?? :D ive never heard of that i think i read it on here. under enabling vga.
Guest Azurren Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) i think i read it on here. under enabling vga. Some funky setting combinations can enable the VGA video mode. But it doesn't require flashing an alternative camera app or any flashing. In the settings set to "custom" then you can play around with other modes Note: Only works with Froyo, don't expect any huge quality increase Edited March 19, 2011 by Azurren

Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Trust me, the difference froyo makes is INCREDIBLE. It is deffinately worth the install. and best of all, once you've done it once, most of the stuff you will never need to do again! Oranges 2.2 probably wont be any better than anything found on this forum anyway. It will just be cluttered with orange tat....and ours have great extras such as overclockable kernals (japanese jellysish, flb, and cyanogen) I reccomend the"flb froyo r10b" for a Troyo ROM. It is very stable and the fastest Froyo ROM i have come across. Cyanogen is 2.3.3, but its still probably a little buggy for your taste.

Guest Azurren Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) is the flb froyo r10b better than the jj9? Yeah it has many of the issues which plagued the JapJelly rom fixed (Battery life, wifi issues etc.) I think I can go as far as to say that FLB mod is near 100% perfect :D Edit: Besides JapJelly is outdated: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...03-17-oled-tft/ :( Edited March 19, 2011 by Azurren

Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Right. whilst you are downloading etc. 1) Install Universal androot and. Im pretty sure its avaliable on the market but if not google it. 2) open it and choose the "root for 2.0-2.2" 3) search for "superuser" on the android market (by chainsdd) 4) Download recovery manager: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...ger-v0-34-beta/ 5) place it on your phone and install it using astro/es (or preffered file manager) (not sure if filer will work) 6)Download clockworkmod recovery (3.0.1.4) you want the VERY first .img file http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...blade-oled-tft/ 7) place it on your sd card (dont extract or anything) 8) open recovery manager and do whatever it takes to install a recovery from your sd card (cant say I remember) 9) make sure the ROM, and you gapps file are on your sd card and easy to find 10) turn off your phone. boot it up with power and volume down held 11) choose "wipe data/factory reset" 12) choose "install zip from sd card" find your ROM zip and open it (use volume to navigate up down, back to go back, home to select) 13) find and install the gapps zip in the same way you did the rom. press back until "reboot your device no" appears. 14) choose it. and gasp at the awsomeness of froyo :D

Guest mrzl Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 cant find the gapps zip you actually don't need to install them seperately, they are included in flb-10b. You only have to download them if you install cyanogenmod.

Guest TouchyAndalou Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) it did show the other options even a vga option but i couldnt choose them. What you have to do is open the on-screen video quality panel which enables you to choose "custom" and once you've selected that VGA recording will be selectable. There's really no need to ever go back to the stock orange rom, as everything seems to work fine on the flb 2.2 rom you're using, at least in my experience. I would have been completely lost if not for this forum however.
