Guest Dangermouse500 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Hi, I know its my own fault and its not the end of the world but it would be nice if I could retrieve my contacts. I made a backup of my SD card but I've no idea of how to import old contacts or if it is possible. I would re-install 2.1 modaco if I could get them back, but I think my contacts were mostly stored on my phone. Are they gone forever, or can someone please let me know what I can do? Is there a way of navigating through the files on my phone via PC or something? Thanks
Guest gremlinman Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 did you ever use a google account?
Guest Dangermouse500 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 did you ever use a google account? Yes Gmail, but I've noticed a difference since the upgrade, much better synching(?), I could read before but any actions on my mobile were not replicated when looking on my PC.
Guest dbeckett Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Your phone contacts should have been previously been synced with gmail. Have you tried logging in to your gmail account on your phone and leaving it with wifi/3g on for around 10minutes? they should be automatically restored

Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) Also in contacts there is an "export" option where you can export them to the sd card. Then once you've flashed a ROM you can just co into contacts, and choose "import from sd card" and bang, there are your contacts :D okay. i admit, I am sad. I looked at the number of posts I had submitted, saw it was 121 and instantaneously noticed it is the square of 11.... Edited March 19, 2011 by Mushroom_Lord
