Guest domenico lamberti Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 hey i got my phone out of my pocket today, and my screen was craked , the OLED Display panel beneath (yes im one of the lucky bastards to own an OLED One) is un damaged, but the glass on top is cracked in and now has three tangents from the centre of the crack i was wondering is there anyway to get a new sheet of glass put of top without getting rid of my OLED panel beneath ? and would i be able to take it back to orange, could they do anything apart from swap it for a new one ?
Guest userof2 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Well, I guess I have the opposite problem. I recently discovered that I'd cracked my OLED panel, but left the actual touchscreen glass completely undamaged :D Unfortunately the cracks to the display meant that the screen didn't turn on at all. I took it in to an Orange shop, but they told me that the cracks were caused by pressure on the screen, which was my fault, so it wasn't covered by the warranty! Anyway, now I'm stuck with a phone that nobody will want, so I guess I'm going to have to buy a new one. Unfortunately, I suspect your problem might not be covered by the warranty either, but it's worth taking in so Orange can have a look at it. Speaking of which, would anybody be interested in buying the handset for spare parts? Absolutely everything works apart from the OLED panel.

Guest userof2 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 well was yours rooted and ROM'd and things and if so did you revert back to stock ? No, it was running the stock ROM still. Not that they could tell though, the screen couldn't even turn on.

Guest userof2 Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Hi, Would you be willing to sell me the glass screen? Steve I'm probably going to get a replacement phone soon, so shortly after that I'll be able to sell it. Is there some guide somewhere on disassembling the phone? If not, I might just sell the whole handset in its broken state; I'd rather not risk experimenting with how to take it apart :D

Guest DannyDanny Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 £93.99 :D makes no sense, you could buy a whole new ZTE Blade for the same money This is weired. The replacement panel was about half the price (of your price). Checked myself and I get the same price. Maybe they recently put prices up?

Guest Gibbo501 Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 He's probably run out and ramped the price up to stop buyers but keep the auction going.
