Out of interest what ROM are you using? and do you kill apps that are open before viewing videos (having tones open can effect performance)

You may want to try CM7 nightly 25 now, as its android 2.3.3 and therefore faster, with newer drivers etc. My blade has no problem with mpeg4's at 1500kps since I can remember (definitely worked on froyo)

Yes, try a task killer. Just install "advanced task killer" from the market. Press kill, then try your videos. Hmm... Im installing n25 as we speak, and come to think of it havent tried videos on cyanogen at all yet, will report back soon

BALLS I DIDNT REPLACE THE ADW LAUNCHER (i detest it, and always replace it with the froyo one) ah well, will just grab a market one as i cba...)

no difference with task killer, handbrake ( from that link) takes forever to convert movie file.

there is a really good guide here somewhere on the forum, ill give you the link ( http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...ile-conversion/ check post. 16) I've been using it myself without problems and the videos look awesome on my Blade.

Yeah, I too can vouch for this. I installed Handbrake last night, followed the instructions in post #16 to the letter and converted an .avi file to an MP4 and loaded it onto my SD card. It was a boxing match I transferred and it plays perfectly on my Blade. Both video and audio are spot on with no delay or choppiness whatsoever. The only slight issue I had was that the video doesn't 100% fill the screen (viewed in landscape, there are approximately 1cm black bars on both sides) but this can likely be fixed by playing around with the settings in Handbrake prior to converting the file. Thanks for linking to that thread.

you're both welcome =) True it takes some time to convert, I usually make a long list of videos to convert in the evening and then when I wake up in the morning they are all done and ready to be transferred.

Thanks Veritas, I followed the guide and it worked :D but i am getting a stuttering effect on the video, have tried killing the other apps with task killer. I am still using the stock rom with the Orange stuff removed, would a newer rom help?

Im using the Modaco R11 ROM personally - havent yet updated to R12.

Definitely works fine with R11 though.

Worth upgrading the ROM though to a 2.2 though - even if its just the ease of moving apps to SD :(

I'm right now on the Swedish Spring Rls 2 and before that I had Flbs Rl10b and the video worked fine on both of them. You can also give cred to the guy that actually showed us how to do it in the other thread =)

I use Winavi All in one converter http://all-in-one-converter.winavi.com/

I use the ipod touch profile and it converts a 700 meg AVI in under 4 minutes. Fastest Ive ever used (used the old winavi for years because that was the fastest before.)

The videos playback perfectly in all the video players I've tested but my favorite is Act1 video player.
