Guest MaxiP Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Testing at the min as I use SwiftKey on my phone. Looks / feels pretty good so far - I think to use the split / 'thumb' entry the keys need to be a little bit bigger - well, for my fudgey fingers at least :D
Guest zzleezz Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Yeah, I know agree. The split layout is hard on old arthritic thumbs though. :D Really nice to be able to switch quickly between full and split layouts. Full layout is good too and the level of customization is impressive.
Guest blcollier Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Have just installed this, and it's rather nice... not so sure on the split layout though... :S
Guest Lennyuk Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Remember the split layout is only designed for when your holding the tablet, you are supposed to switch to normal when you put it down on a desk.

Guest bazanime Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 a screenshot would be nice, please.
Guest shadow wave Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 I tried it but it predicted every word wrong and took longer to type with that the standard keyboard.
Guest add.thebad Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 the concept works well but i think the keys need to be bigger. Does make typing easyer tho, i was using the notion ink keyboard
Guest MaxiP Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 the concept works well but i think the keys need to be bigger. Does make typing easyer tho, i was using the notion ink keyboard I prefer the modified NI keyboard to type on but get frustrated having to go ALT & ??? for symbols / numbers. Can't remember exactly why but there were several characters I use frequently that are buried a couple of levels down so I ditched it in favour of the Gingerbread kb. Agree that the SwiftKey keys need to be slightly bigger but will be using this as my main keyboard for now.
Guest Lennyuk Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 I tried it but it predicted every word wrong and took longer to type with that the standard keyboard. It learns from usage, the more you use it the better the prediction gets and it really does get very very good indeed. I have been using it on my phone since the first release now and it can predict entire sentences for me. it really is worth sticking with, and you will soon find you are quicker with it than without, as it requires a lot less key presses.

Guest Dave Marchant Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Anyone hook my up with a Swiftkey VIP invite code? Me too please :)
Guest CoWPlagued Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 VIP invite code means they have closed the open beta off already. VIP members cannot issue invite codes, so you're basically too late .. boooooo that includes me.
Guest partner2 Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 VIP invite code means they have closed the open beta off already. VIP members cannot issue invite codes, so you're basically too late .. boooooo that includes me. The VIP code is swiftkey2vip (working for me)
Guest rferrett Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Sweet just typing with it now. I reckon it will take some getting used to but looks bloody quick from what I have seen so far blimey!
Guest markedup Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 swiftkey2vip This no longer seems to be working. I've sent SwiftKey a grovelling email, asking if I can be added to the beta test.

Guest Yogimax Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) SwiftKey have reopened the VIP program to the Vega community. The keyboard is really easy to use in split mode and I find it excellent on Vegacomb! Register as a VIP at http://swiftkey.net/vip/ and use the invite code swiftkeyXmay - this is valid to the end of this week. :P Enjoy Edited May 24, 2011 by Yogimax

The tablet version looks good but, as others have noted, the keys are too small. My favourite keyboard for tablet is Thumb Keyboard. It's like SwiftKey, but better.
Guest rferrett Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 New Swiftkey X Beta for tablet out yesterday. Is good, but a little to wide for thumb typing when holding the Vega in landscape. Can I get anyone to vote for my idea on the feedback page? http://support.swiftkey.net/forums/116697-...de-for-my-littl Ralph
Guest BlackNet Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 (edited) Many thanks for the invite code... Edited June 18, 2011 by BlackNet
