Sorry if this is a silly question but how can I use 3g internet on the San Francisco if I said WiFi only when setting the phone up?

Thanks

Go to MENU>SETTINGS>WIRELESS AND NETWORKS>MOBILE NETWORKS>DATA ENABLED

quick note, enabling "data roaming" will mean your device will try to access mobile data whilst roaming

for example, (im assuming) you are on orange. If you have signed up for the t-mobile/orange "use each others signal" plan (or whatever it is called) then you can use the 2g (calls, texts, mms) networks, at your standard orange cost. HOWEVER, you aren't supposed to use 3G. so enabling this may cost you LOADS of credit.

(I think :D )

When you are out of the country it counts as roaming, and it can cost ALLOT for calls, texts and data. You can unlock the SF easily and for free (on this site somewhere) so you could swap your SIM card for one that comes from the country you are in.

As it stands orange customers can pick up signal from Tmobile masts which is a great benefit ive found especially at work the only thing with it at the moment in the early stages is that when getting signal from a tmobile point we are unable to get a full package so in other words we can talk and text off of tmobile signal but not use data. This will hopefully change in the near future!
