Guest KACE_231 Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 I have seen several users have complained about WiFi dropping when the screen turns off, well I have found a very simple fix that requires only changing settings. Go to Home>menu>settings>Wireless & Neworks>WiFi settings>menu>advanced>WiFi Sleep-Policy>...and select "never" Simple as that, your WiFi connection will never drop unless you go out of range, though this may drain the battery In terms of reconnecting I havent really had a problem with this but it may be rectified with that Blade WiFi-Fix App
Guest Magnets Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 What rom are you using? Are you 100% sure it stays connected?
Guest lixcab Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Also, what encryption do you have on your WiFi - WEP, WPA or WPA2? Or maybe even none? Thanks!
Guest KACE_231 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) I am using the stock ROM with stock kernels. The only real WiFi connection I use is the one in my home: Sky Broadband, WiFi stays permanently connected, tested for two days now. When I came back into the house this afternoon my OSF reconnected automatically. My encryption is WPA/WPA2, however I have noticed that my signal strength varies between 1-2bars even when I am in the room adjacent to the router, I only get a full 3 bars when i stand next to the router. I have a feeling the WiFi hardware is pretty poor at finiding and maintaining a signal. Edited March 22, 2011 by KACE_231

I have a BT HomeHub at home, and a Linksys running ddwrt at work. Some days, DDWRT stays connected during sleep, some days it doesn't. BT Homehub never does stay connected, no matter what ROM, and no matter what sleep policy I set.
