Removing Custom ROM

Hi ya,

If anyone could spare a few minutes to help I'd really appreciate it.

When I first got my Vega I really wanted to get the market on it so I installed a custom ROM.

However now I am having trouble installing Vendetta Online (MMOG).

The specs on the download page for the client say that my device should work, (Tegra 2 + Android 2.2), https://market.android.com/details?id=com.g...ftware.vendetta.

Yet when I try an install the client it says that "This item is not compatible with your device"... and it lists my device as an "Nvidia Advent Vega with MoDaCo Custom ROM Add-On r4"..

I'm wondering if it is not working because of the modified device name.

I have tried loading the standard 1.09 update from the http://www.myadventvega.co.uk website but the device still lists as a "Nvidia Advent Vega with MoDaCo Custom ROM Add-On r4", how do I get it back to a completely standard "Nvidia Advent Vega"??

Thank you!!

Mark

How did you try to load the 1.09 update... because that will clear everything... And it will not have marked...

I connected the USB cable and the power lead.

Then I held down the power button untill the Vega powered off.

Next I pressed the back button for 2->3 seconds, then with the back button held down I pressed the power buton for 2->3 seconds, then released the power button and kept the back button held down for 2->3 seconds more before releasing it.

The Vega screen stayed blank but my Laptop detected the new hardware and I loaded the USB drivers.

Finally I ran the softwareImage_v1.09_Vega_Final.exe file that I had downloaded from the myadventvega.co.uk site and it proceeded to update my device. It took a few minutes as it copied files etc.

Once complete I powered on my Vega and it deffinately did update it, everything has been wiped and its a standard build now.

I then did nothing else but attached it to my wireless and went to try and install Vendetta Online, but it said exactly the same thing again, that my device was an "Nvidia Advent Vega with MoDaCo Custom ROM Add-On r4" and installation was not supported..

Yeah I know what your thinking, but trust me, the 1.09 update deffinately went through and I did nothig else except the steps outlined above.

I did not try to load anything else first, just applied 1.09, attached to wireless and went straight to the website to try and install the client.

install it from the tablet itself.

it takes some time for the market website to notice that you have a different rom.

I think you may well be right.

Any idea how long it takes for the market to pickup the new ROM, or better yet, any way to force it to see it?

Thank you :D
