im sure there is someone that can solve my sound issue

i got my first android phone at the weekend . did the simple unlock and phone works great with my new t-mob sim contract.i entered the general.t-mobile.uk for the APN for internet and get a great signal. my only problem is i cannot get the sound for my ring volume . i have tried everything to no avail. you can barely here it .

i phoned orange and they instructed me to do a reset . i popped the orange sim in beforehand and hey presto i get full control over the volume. i put my t mob sim in and i get no virtually zero sound from the speaker and i cannot raise it even though the bar states max volume,

im at my wits end as im missing calls alot

Btw just give it back and get a new one.don't try to solve it if the phone had/has that problem.
