Guest Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 I've been using my Blade since January and I can't get it to run stable. The first week I had to reboot like every day but things now got out of hand. I've been using JJ RLS7, 8 and 9, FLBG2 and now Swedish Spring RLS2 with Clockwork Recovery 3.0.1.4 and previously 2.5.1.3. It did seem to be better with the new Swedish Spring, but as soon as I activate my mobile internet things it seems like the device is overheating after some time. The display actually is getting warm to hot on the upper half of the screen. The browser is crashing and the whole device hangs up after some time. No overclocking, no nothing - Now the question is: Do I just have a shitty model, or have any of you experienced similar problems?
Guest Azurren Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 My blade only gets warm (top of the device) when I am abusing internet / wifi and the cpu at the same time.. Nothing more I can really add as I don't know what is / isn't normal here :D but it does sound like a faulty unit
Guest simonsays1 Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 I've also experienced this problem whilst surfing and also whilst charging the battery. I've been running Swedish Spring and sometimes the top of the phone will feel very hot at the back as if something is overheating. I wonder whether a different ROM will help ?

I don't think I can return it, but thanks for your input :D I've also experienced this problem whilst surfing and also whilst charging the battery. Is there a tool to measure the cpu temp correctly? Edited March 23, 2011 by Guest

Definitely faulty there buddy :( Whether its due to heat or not it is a serious issue Edited March 23, 2011 by Azurren
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Only time temperature grow is when i play divxs with rockplayer
Guest Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 When I used LauncherPro I could even get hang-ups with repeative changing of the homeview tabs. They're 119€ unlocked at my place now, but I don't think I'll get another one.
Guest lewisqpr Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Is there a tool to measure the cpu temp correctly? Download the battery widgets app from the market. When you click on the widget it tells you the temp of your CPU. Mine is normally around 30.C but does go up to 40.C when charging, using wifi etc.
Guest simonsays1 Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 It is quite normal for this to happen while just using the phone while charging :D Of course I expect my phone to get a little warm when charging but this wasn't a normal charging temperature. The phone felt as if it was about to catch fire ! :D I flashed CM7 N28 on last night and the phone seems to be back to normal now.
Guest lixcab Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Yes, I get this. I added a profile in setCPU to limit cpu usage when it reaches high temp.

That's a workaround but not a solution imho. So there are other faulty devices around I guess.
Guest Rotmann Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 If you have flashed the ROMs properly (wipe, no Titanium system apps or settings restore), I suppose you have a broken device. You have warranty, why don't you change it?
