Any way to install custom recovery without usb port (not rooted phone)?

Hey guys. I want to install a custom recvery on my pulse, but my usb port is broken. Is there any way besides the fastboot method? I read about the installation with "ROM manager", but my phone is currently not rooted, because I installed the official UK 2.1 because a boot loop.

Please tell me if there is a hope, because this rom is sooo slow and I don't have enough space...

I found the answer so I post it here. It could maybe help others with the same problem.

1. root your phone with z4root

2.install ROM Manager from the Market

3.install clockwork recovery
