Guest LostEmperor Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Hi everyone, I have been following many, many tutorials that help update the Liquid to froyo 2.2, now, after the update I switched my phone on to realise that it now has a SIM NETWORK LOCK, I mean, WTH???? this telephone was bought unlocked and now after many, many more updates and going through all the tutorials on this and other websites I have found that I CAN'T USE MY PHONE, IT KEEPS ASKING ME FOR THE NETWORK UNLOCK CODE. I am going absolutely crazy as I cannot use my Acer and I have to use a crappy H& from china (which has more or less the same apps but it's a lot slower and I DON'T WANT IT COS IT'S CHINESE CRAP!!!), can someone please advise as to how the hell I can get rid of this stupid Network lock, I bought it new and unlocked, the update to 2.1 Eclair was a sinch, but this, HELP! If any of you have the answer to what I can do and how to do it, please advise, if your solution is "Buy an unlock code from the many..." please, I bought it unlocked and I think there has to be some way around this, I don't want to spend another 20 quid on something that was originally there. Hi, No I haven't, I don't see the point in paying for something I have already paid for, and what's more, I bought the thing factory unlocked and I do NOT know what company/network it is locked to now. Anyone with a sure cure for this? Thanks for the attention and the feedback!

Since you bought it unlocked, I do not think that any unlock code would work (Developer Vache accidentally had his A1 to Rogers Canada and he ended up buying a new phone).

I think I did the same thing, I have tried it so many times now I can't remember the process I used initially but I believe I did it with the help of malez_recovery Any tips on how to wipe a phone clean of everything and install from scratch or am I just realising that I have asked the dumbest question this side of the equator? I installed the "FroyoMetal" on my Liquid A1 and it all went pear shaped, so I then proceeded to look around thinking an official ROM would be the cure, that then made things worse hence this post. If anyone could help me with a Nandroid backup I would be appreciative for the help. Sadly, this issue is still open. Cheers

I'm sorry to say though if that doesn't work you may be hooped. Its an unfortunate consequence of custom roms.

Go to your emergency dialer and dial: **05*PUK CODE*NEWSIMPASS*NEWSIMPASSAGAIN# Where NEWSIMPASS is whatever you want the sim pass to be, between 4 and 8 numbers (I think). Your sim card is now unlocked.
