Hey there,

I have a UK milestone and tried to flash the beta CyanogenMod 7...

I had previously been using the Hobomod release which runs on the same kernel and also on Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread..

so when i installed the CM7 update (after backing up the NANDROID, of course) i was pretty disappointed by all the bugs,

the home and search buttons not working,

the market crashing, the gmail not existing

and the lockscreen not showing up.

but on the other hand i loved the features like the lockscreen gestures and notification toggles.

so i also backed up the CM7 nandroid.. factory resetted everything and went back to hobomod (1.4) from my backup.

after that had been restored, i simply flashed in the system partition from the CM7 backup, i thought, it might be worth a try;

and actually, it worked pretty well, the market was still crashing and i could still not add any google accounts

but at least the buttons were working.

so i took the update packages from hobomod and the beta CM7 for milestone...

took out the parts that i needed from both.. put in the RAGE red bootscreen that i got somewhere else..

i am not claiming any copyrights on any of the parts or any names or any resources and graphics

all claims go to their creators as published as open source

so basically i have created a custom ROM, which i call HybridMod 1.0 for Milestone,

which contains the best from both HoboMod and Cyanogenmod 7,

all the features from CM7 and the debugging from HM1.4

it is a stable, nearly bug-free CM7 version for the Milestone,

comes in a signed update package, simply flashable through OpenRecovery

has been tested, but is not yet uploaded. EDIT: UPLOADED! Link, see below.

it comes with the ADW launcher as default, i will attach some screenshots..

so, what do you think?

follow the same setup instructions as for hobomod.

all credits go to the creators of hobomod, CyanogenMod and the RAGE red boot animation.
