Android system often reverts back fresh OS with no apps?

I have the Dell Streak locked from Rogers which now has the 2.2 official update.

Prior to the 2.2 update, I was running the 1.6 and the system froze up and could not even power down, so I pulled the battery and then re-powered it back up to find a "like new install" with no previously installed apps. At the time I had MyBackup Pro, so I had to slowly install each one back one at the time - very frustrating, then enter all the individual settings/configurations for each of the programs.

Then it happened again about two weeks later after updating to the official 2.2 update, but this time with the 2.2 coming back as if it was just installed. Of course I had to go through the backup procedure again restoring all programs and files configurations.

Then it froze again three weeks ago, and I decided to root the system using superoneclick, so I could use/try out Titanium backup pro (rooted). So again reinstalled all of my programs then did a batch app and system data backup and set the schedule.

Side note:

Since updating to the 2.2, the system keeps telling me that the sim card is not present, and so I have to hard restart the Dell, and then it is back again. It may be phone weaver that is causing it as when I go to work I have it shut down all heavy power consumption communications such as the phone, data, wifi, Bluetooth, and then when I finish work it turns them back on - as I save my battery, otherwise it is almost dead before I finish work and the phone/data do not work in our building -too much blocked.

Anyway after restoring it twice in the last week with a batch system restore with titanium backup pro, I am getting tired of this happening all too often. Although Titanium Backup pro is good, I still loose configuration data for most of the programs, but it does do batch restores nicely. I have quite a few programs installed, Titanium says I have a total of 234 user apps and a total of 387 apps with data at the moment.... so it might be anyone of these programs that might be causing the dell to crash and revert back to original clean install.

Anyone have any idea how to resolve this, short of just running it without any user apps? It seems to run sometimes for a few weeks, and other times just a few days, and it did this with the 1.6 and now again with the 2.2 with the only difference being that after updating to 2.2 it started to have the missing sim card errors, even though it had not been removed (I noticed when Phone Weaver was changing state of phone when the sim card error would show up). With a hard reboot it is back running fine, but sometimes I end up with a blank original android 2.2 install, thereby having to do another restore.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this system reverting back to an original install configuration all the time, would be great!

Ok, :D

Today I had some force closures, so I decided to reboot. When I tried to re-boot, it now keeps looping on the Dell logo... i.e. it gets to the Dell logo then turns off, then re-boots again indefinitly (I think). So I pulled the battery out and tried to re-boot again, same thing, so I have to pull the battery to make it stop. I can get to the fastboot bios screen using the power and camera button, but that is about it.

Because it has a tendency in the past to revert to a clean system (this is like 5 times since purchased in January) you guys have any suggestions on what I should do now?

I had it running the rogers/dell 2.2 update, but I also rooted it this time using superoneclick (so if I take it in, they may not honor the warranty unless they can't find it at this stage?).

As no responses,

I ended up calling Rogers, and they sent me a new (refurbished) unit which I have now restored.

The one I am sending back, I can't even hard reset it, so something must have been wrong.

Anyway with Phoneweaver now running, I am still getting the error the Sim Card is not attached when it turns the phone on from when it turned off the phone, data, WiFi, Bluetooth earlier prior to getting to work. This is on the new refurbished phone now... which suggests it must be a software glitch :-(

Anyone else having this issue with this program... anyone suggest another program that will switch all of the different communication medians off when needed?
