I can confirm 0614 provides better audio quality during calls. Still I can't understand why the Market application in my device isn't updating to the latest version, though!

With 614 my data connection is less stable. It takes a long time for the phone to switch from 3G to 2G. 606 Is very stable and fast.

Thanx Paul!

0606 baseband cause a serious hangup.

music via cable + surfing web, ok.

music via bluetooth + surfing web = hangup, battery pull.

strangely.. music via bluetooth only, no hangup...

EDIT1:

=========================

NOTE: 0614 wont boot problem

=========================

After flashing 0614 baseband, my phone would always hangup on LG screen.

This it the only way I could make it boot after flashing 0614:

Flashing 0614 -> Install backtoEXT3 from CWM ->install Fr19 RC1

I can't restore my own nandroid backup.. since it will hangup during boot -__-

EDIT2:

UPDATED the clockworkmod to version 3.2.0.0

then restore nandroid backup, all problem gone.

clockworkmod 3.2.0.0 solve all boot hangup problem !! :)

BE SURE you have update CWM to version 3.2.0.0, BEFORE flashing 0614 baseband

I flashed BB 614 through smartflash and found smartflash to be a very tricky and whimsical kind of thing. I could flash only after 8-10 times of showing "Error" although I did everything strictly as per instruction. I passed a horrified time since my baseband was shown as "Unknown". But ultimately when it really flashed, I could not assess why it worked the last time and how the condition was different than the earlier occassions when it failed. BTW I have some queries in this regard ?

1) SIM & SD card - I took these out - Is it mandatory to take these out ?

2) Antivirus Programme - Stopped last time when it successfully flashed - Can a running antivirus interfere with smartflash flashing ?

3) USB Disk Security - Deactivated almost everytime - Are these programe interefering with smartflash process?

4) Is there any other way to flash a baseband other than smartflash ? I have not come across any on googling.

I am using WIN xp SP3 in my laptop.

Lastly kudos to paul and everyone in this thread for making available this "eccentric" but very useful programme.

Hey Dear MoDaCo-ers,

I have been reading and reading. After i bought the optimus 2x 3 weeks ago. I have rooted and flashed recovery en the modaco FR17 Rom.

I have to say the roms is fantastic, i eagarly await what is coming.

But the question i have is about these baseband files.

I am running the baseband 0405 and i would like to try an newer one. But i have no idea wich baseband are compatible with the FR17 and i am really confused about those ril files mentioned.

Can someone enlight me in what basebands i can use? (I live in the netherlands don't know if that is important)

With kind regards,

A fellow androider.

just download all baseband and those RIL file... try and error

you can always flash the old version over the newer one.

just make sure you have nandroid backup, together backup your internal SD before flashing

ATTENTION:

If you have CWM 3.0.2.8 by Paul, make a backup and flash the Baseband 622 you are NOT able to boot after restoring your backup !!

Paul: Please update CWM to at least 3.2.0.1 . Until the update is released by Paul: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745

Make sure you update your CWM to 3.2.0.1 BEFORE you flash your Baseband with version 622 !!

Hmm - I flashed the 622 baseband - wipe everything, then flash FR19RC2 bake.

I am still on the 3.0.2.8 CMW - didnt see that newer CMW was needed :/

Now im stuck at LG screen on boot, am I screwed - or can I roll back somehow.

I have tried flashing the 606BB I was on before - and then installing the FR19RC1 I used, also tried Nandroid restore, nothing works - keeps getting stuck on LG boot screen..

Any tips ?? :)

Ok so try this

1 : reboot in recovery

2 : apply backtoext3.zip to format all properly and convert partitions

3 : install Fr19

4 : install 606 Ril

5 : reboot and don't try to restore backup

2 : apply backtoext3.zip to format all properly and convert partitions - This seems to have done the trick - booted - now to update CMW before flashing 622 :)

Thank you very much for the tip!

Sorry for the inconvinience all :rolleyes:

you can restore your very own nandroid backup and still able to boot !

if you have update your Clockworkmod to version v3.2.0.0 or above.

all you need is to do a nandroid backup first, flash your 0622 baseband and RIL, restore backup, that's it.
