Two Blades - one mac-address .... aaaaaarrrg [solved]

Hi folks,

I have two Blades (to be correct: one Blade and one SanFran :( ).

I use them with the (real great) FLB-Froyo-Images (currently shifting from r10b to r11). BUT both devices have the same mac-address for WLAN :D (and I guess for BT too)

That leads to the problem, that using my devices in the same WLAN is almost impossible.

I found noting better than the two (1, 2) links to xda-developers, but neither does help me solving the problem :D .

Is there anyone having a solution for this prob on Blade/SanFran?

Thanks in advance for input.

BB

I wonder if you did one of those tpt flashes?

I wonder if that just clones a complete phone - everything including mac address

Try doing a *#06# on the keypad and check your IMIE number and compare it with whats under the battery

it will be interesting to see if its changed or is the same

But as stated the answer to your question is in the post stated above

I believe a change of MAC address is required here - it's how the router (uniquely) identifies each connection, nothing do with IP addresses imo ...

ROFLOL at the title of this post. Am I the only one reminded of "Two Girls - One Cup"?

You really should use search before starting a new thread: Duplicate MAC address thread

Sorry, but I gave up after 20 min of searching in this forum and more time in others. But obviously I was using wrong search terms :D

Anyway thanks for help an link! *thumbsup*

No tpt flash (at least - I do not know if, even if I did). I "simply" did a nandroid-backup of the one and flashed that to the second.

I'll check the IMEI as soon as ROM-Update is done :D and post it here.

it's normal you have duplicated the file where the mac address is written

IMEI remained untouched.

MAC is totally different from what I edited, but that's fine for me. :D

Again thanks'! BB
