I think my phone is bricked

I've been running Leedroid froyo rom for months now, have s-off etc etc.

Today, there was an update for busybox on the market but for some reason, I got an error when it tried installing saying "file package is invalid". I uninstalled and tried to re install but alas, now busybox won't install at all. I have emailed the developer about this and have been awaiting any news on what the problem could be.

However, tonight, for some strange reason, I powered down my phone, switched it back on again to find it won't get past the splash screen. I tried a couple of times but still stuck on the splash screen.

I then decided to go into recovery to restore via nandroid. I can get to the fastboot screen but am unable to get into recovery, I get the black screen, red triangle with exclamation mark and that's all.

Am I truly bricked or is there something I can do to resolve this?

I'm happy to unroot if that's what I have to do though I may need help with finding the right ruu file and how to unroot when I can't power up the device.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Alison

Can you pull out the menu at the "red exclamation mark" screen?

Hold volume up and the power button simultaneously and the menu should pop up :D

Hi there, thanks for replying. Yes, I was pressing the back button instead of volume button. Duh.

However, since getting the phone sorted out, it's now playing up big time, random reboots, can't install busybox again and is generally driving me potty.

I am thinking of unrooting now to see if that sorts it out and then if it does, selling the phone and buying a new one.

Still no idea which ruu file I would need, I know it would need to be T-Mobile but no idea how I know which hboot is in the ruu, I have hboot 93 with s-off (used Alpha Rev for that).

If somebody could let me know how I find out which hboot the ruu has, I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Alison
