Guest CharlieBigPotato Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Ok, had my San Fran for 2 days now and I love it... but email on this thing is driving me mad! I managed to get my Exchange email from uni working on the Orange Mail app within seconds. Username, password, Exchange OWA address, BOOM! All working fine. I then had to revert the phone to factory settings to get Market working, and now when I try to set up my Exchange account it's asking me to choose from a list of hotmail related providers on the very last step. It didn't do this before! Needless to say it now won't work. No bother I thought, so I installed the K-9 email app. I can't get it to do a bloody thing on there either. I thought I'd cheat and use the Gmail app that was on the phone and forward all my addresses to there, but it only seems to check my email when I go into the app and click the 'refresh' option rather than pushing it like other apps. I can't find any settings for this in the program. I've tried searching the site for advice but all I can find is 'load a ROM and you'll get the oem Android email app'. There must be something else I can do? I need my exchange email on my phone before I throw a massive wobbly and binge eat myself into oblivion :D Thanks :D
Guest CharlieBigPotato Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Sorry I should have added; if I can find an email app that connects to Exchange as simply as the Orange one, and that works (pref with push), then I'm happy to leave the phone running the 2.1 it came with. I'd rather not risk turning it into a paperweight :D Any suggestions?
Guest hecatae Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 No one? Please? :D *wah* so you just need the orange mail .apk from the system/apps folder? http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...online-kitchen/ Mail installed to /system partition * This option includes Orange Mail application. cant remember if posters can use that kitchen, but that .apk is what you need

The standard Android mail client would be good though if you could point me in the right direction? Can't find the thing anywhere. Thanks, relentlessforce. Just installed Maildroid so if that won't work either I'll try your suggestion.
Guest CharlieBigPotato Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Touchdown works well for me SORTED! Maildroid was a load of fuss and didn't connect, so I installed Touchdown as you recommended. The auto-configuration tool works a treat and now I won't get told off for missing uni deadlines any more because I never check my mails. Emails are pushed instantly - I'm a very happy man!
Guest m_w_clarke Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 The Orange Email app is actually a rebranded "SEVEN" email app. This is currently in BETA, which you can sign up for for free, and get the app. http://community.seven.com/main.php This pushs all email Ive tried (Hotmail, Google, Yahoo and work (via OWA))
