Problems loading emails?

Does anyone else have this issue, I set my email to sync manually to save battery life but using both gmail and the email client its slow. In gmail you hit refesh and it takes may be 20-30 secs to update and in many occasions it doesn't update at all it just gives up, on my old iPhone it takes maybe 5 seconds to update and it always updates.

In the standard email client same issue with speed maybe 20-30 seconds and then when you go to open and email you get "Loading" and thats as far as it goes, you never actually get to see the email :D

Are you running stock? Ive certainly never experienced anything like that on a froyo ROM or Cm7.

I can't say I remember such an issue with stock, but I did flash shortly after I got my blade...
