Guest robygom Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) Hello, i own one san francisco (stock android 2.1, B10) and a galaxy s (froyo). With the SF when the screen turns off i can't get any email or whatsapp message until i turn on the screen and wait like 15-30 seconds. On the galaxy i get emails notifications and whatsapp messages the same second i send myself something. Any ideas? PS... noticed that if i leave the phone connected to the pc with the USB cable i get emails and everything even with screen off. Energy saving settings? i put wifi always on, can't find anything else. Edited March 27, 2011 by robygom
Guest Azurren Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) One of the SFs "Features" is that when the device goes into deep sleep wifi is turned off, ignoring your sleep policy settings (Phone goes into deep sleep after about 30 seconds of the screen going off) 2g / 3g is unaffected and will "push" the same as on any other device. However wifi will require the phone to be "awake". You can get apps that keep the phone awake but it will completely destroy your battery life The phone is kept awake while connected to usb / charging Hope this helps Edited March 27, 2011 by Azurren
Guest MrMirUK Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Yes the above post is correct. I f you want a app to keep your wifi on I recomment 'Advanced Wifi Lock free'. Does the job for me perefectly
Guest That-Guy Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Does the Standard Email App support Push Email? or is it just the gmail app?
Guest Rotmann Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 It supports IMAP (push) too if your provider supports it too and if you set it up to do that.
