Guest CrArC Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Another hitherto unasked question it seems! Does anything need to be done to activate HDMI on the Vega when using the Modaco ROM? I've tested with a Samsung telly and a desktop monitor, but both report no signal down the HDMI cables. Is it only available on the stock ROM or something?

No problems with mine using modaco rom but I found you must turn off the tv and then switch back on for it to work. Also check your hd cable to see if that works. Hope this helps.
Guest chenga Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 I just plugged mine in and it works. Something may be wrong with yours.

Now to test on the monitor...
Guest Fuzzysteve Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Probably HDCP related. Some tvs don't like having what's plugged into them change while they're on.

Thanks guys. Was going to try mine tomorrow and didn't anticipate any problems but now know what to look for!
Guest CrArC Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Really make sure the connector is fully inserted as well, and avoid trapping the port cover between the cable housing and the case - I found it needs to be pushed as far as it will go to work.
Guest Neil R Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Glad I read this. Thanks guys. Was going to try mine tomorrow and didn't anticipate any problems but now know what to look for! I can't get audio to work on sony bravia but works fine on a new lg tv i just bought. Not a cable problem, seems to be sonys are a bit particular. Anyone working on a bravia?
Guest CrArC Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 There is a confirmed issue with the Sony tellies, I've read that on a few sites around the interwebs.
Guest rebeldx Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 (edited) my issue was although my hdmi cables work on alla my gadgets, on the vega only 1 worked, the solution has already been mentioned, the hdmi connectors of the cables must of been slightly thicker on the cases than the 1 that worked ....... even though there didn't appear 2 be any size differences, trial n error prevailed :D Edited April 6, 2011 by rebeldx

That was pretty much straight out of the box with 1.09 and the extras to get Market going.
Guest paulmartin Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 My Vega doesn't work with an HDMI cable when its on the docking station....which is annoying.
Guest premieral Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 My Vega doesn't work with an HDMI cable when its on the docking station....which is annoying. I'm assuming that it works off the dock which really would be a bummer as i fancied getting a dock
Guest paulmartin Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Yes - sorry. To clarify the side HDMI slot doesn't work when the device is mounted on the dock. Obviously the rear one on the dock itself does work.

Thanks, that answers another question (not from me, although I was going to test it) on whether you could feed two separate HDMI outputs, one from the tab and one from the dock. It seems not then.
