Guest androidfen Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 I have followed the guide and installed ROM Manager, then installed ROM from SD (FLB-Froyo G2 r9b). I've read first boot will be very slow but I am seeing these 4 colors going around the screen for more than 40 minutes and nothing happens. Is there something wrong and what can I do? Help much appreciated.

Guest androidfen Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) I think what's the problem is that i didnt check wipe data because i wanted to keep original software as well. However this was not compulsory in any of the guides. Edited March 28, 2011 by androidfen

On the next step it says: Confirm restore? THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE -no -no -no .. -yes (restore) -no -no -no Yes and home button should be fine right? Asking because as said above this can not be undone. Thanks for helping.

Guest androidfen Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Thanks to you guys I have a working phone again. :D On the other hand I'm back with Android 2.1. Trying to investigate what caused the problem so do you think not wiping data could have caused this?
Guest johntrfc Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Trying to investigate what caused the problem so do you think not wiping data could have caused this? Yes not wiping data would of caused it Changing to a completely different rom will require a wipe Back up data apps settings etc using titanium backup before wiping, then you can restore them once you have changed rom Later if a newer version of the rom you are using comes out you will be able to just upgrade without a full wipe, but when switching to a completely different rom a wipe will be required

The reason for the bootloop is clear, it is written in the guides that a wipe is a MUST when switching to a new ROM. Edited March 29, 2011 by Rotmann
