Guest davelong Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) Hi folks I'm still on FLB R8b on a OLED blade. This morning I woke up and the screen would not turn on, the blade was not off just in sleep. Nothing came on the screen when the screen or buttons were pressed. The one thing is the blade vibrated once when I pressed the volume button, but that only occured once. I took the battery out and rebooted. It would only boot to the green android, no matter how long I left it. I can get into recovery. However I've just been using it for testing really so I never did any backups, as I've always done fresh installs. I've wiped the cache but when I try to wipe data/factory recovery it just hangs at formatting /sd-ext. I tried to take a backup also from recovery but that hung at CP I have tried a fresh install of the flbr8b.zip and it has installed but it hung doing that once. Any ideas? Guest Rotmann Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Flash the latest ClockWork through recovery and flash an actual ROM like FLB 11.
Guest davelong Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) Ill have to find another way to get data on to the SD card for that, I have v3.0.0.5 at the moment. One strange thing is that I removed the SD card and it did boot fully. Every hang in clockwork seems to have come when dealing with the SD card although It will still show me whats on the card and can still flash. I've not had any problems with the SD before (its an 8gig card ) Whats the best way to get data on the sd with out doing it through the phone/USB edit: recovery will not format the SD or ext either it just hangs. Guest davelong Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I'm thinking this more to do with the SD card, the phone boots and works without the card in. Clockwork hangs when dealing with the card, and when I do boot in and then add the card the notification appears 'preparing the SD card checking for errors' and now it hasn't gone away and the SD card settings cant find it either. So I'm off to get a new card and card reader, am I right in thinking that I need to install ubuntu to correctly format an SD card on a computer, or can a winXP format work?
Guest Rotmann Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 You don't have to buy a new card, copy the whole stuff on the computer and format it as FAT32. If it still won't work maybe it's broken. Also update to the newest clockwork, some older versions had problems formatting.
Guest davelong Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Thanks rotmann How can I flash the phone without a SD card? My computer doesn't have micro sd reader either (I'm so behind these days.)
Guest Rotmann Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I think flashing without an SD is not possible. Install the latest 3.0.1.4 clockwork through fastboot and try to mount/format the SD from it, it should work.
Guest Drakedian Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 You should just boot in to recovery, select Mount/Storage and select the Mount MS-USB (the last option, im not sure about the name). Then you maybe can backup ur data, or w/e and from there you can format your card manually i think.
