Guest MountfordD Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I am running FLB Mod 1.7 which is very stable most of the time, no problems. The only time I appear to have problems is when I use it at my work lodgings where I stay several days in the week. I am with T-Mobile. I normally have everything off to conserve battery until I want to access the Internet when I switch on Data, 3G and Background. It works fine for a few minutes then reboots. It will sometimes manage to boot properly, again lasting only a few minutes and then reboots. Other times it will only get to the Android skateboard logo and the reboots. I have removed the battery, leaving it for a while in case it was an overheating problem, clearing the Dalvik cache, reset the permissions with Clockwork, etc. but no solution. The only way I can recover from the boot loop is by going back to a Nandroid backup that I made without the Data, 3G and Background on or reinstalling FLB from the zip file which doesn't always work. The Nandroid restore is the only sure solution but I lose data that way. The only thing I can think is is that the T-Mobile signal at my work lodgings is not very good and this has some bearing on the problem, maybe? I would be very grateful if someone can give me any pointers. I have not tried the other mods but I may have to if this continues.
Guest Daz555 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) Are you running with JIT enabled? If so, try turning it off. Of the FLB mods I went back to 1.6b as I found it most stable. Edited March 29, 2011 by Daz555

I can't see a JIT reference in build.prop so I don't know if it is on or off by default. When I am able to connect up my phone to my PC to use adb, I will turn it off and see what happens. Otherwise I will try 1.6b. Much obliged in the meantime.

Guest MountfordD Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Are you running with JIT enabled? If so, try turning it off. Of the FLB mods I went back to 1.6b as I found it most stable. Turning JIT on or off made absolutely no difference ("a2sd nojit") as far as boot looping goes. However messing about with a2sd seems to have done something. It is slightly more stable now in that it doesn't reboot virtually immediately. The problem seems to manifest itself most in Market. Have also tried Cyanogenmod 6.1 and have the same problem so I think it must be an issue with my phone set up. I may try a complete rollback to T-Mobile's 1.5 and rebuild from there.
