Fr14 has no Chinese, not stable at all, where can i download back Fr13 from the kitchen?

The latest version that is considered to be very stable is the one available as a prebake (FR12). I would install this instead of FR13.

FR14 crash the phone and have to pull out battery to restart the phone every hour so going back to my backup with FR13, missed the school today because the alarm did not start

Go back a few pages and you will find the Fr13 kitchen posted by Paul.

Have just reverted to R13. R14 was very quick, particularly during app startup, but seemed to suffer from issues resuming from hibernation and randomly losing cellular service (not just data). Also had it spontaneously start playing music while asleep, completely randomly!

Will look forward to an R15 (Pauls time permitting); am happy with R13 as a daily drive but the performance improvements made thus far would be welcome

Battery drain is huuuuuge! I charged it to 100% at 9am and died a 5pm completely with only 2 phone calls for alltogether 5 minutes! Going to try a different Rom but maybe I'm going to revert to stock ...

Did you whipe before install... Not whiping seems to cause all sorts of problems.

Anyway i have lost about 9% in 8 houers... So no drain here.

Okay, so I persisted and got a reasonable log of the severe browser lockup I've experienced with Fr14 and all versions prior to Fr4 although I skipped many versions. Fr10 did never exhibit this behaviour and it happens frequently now.

Bear with me while I explain what happened:

  • Had be checking in on this thread from my phone on 3G regularly during the day
  • Checked back in a few times when I got home on WiFi, no problems
  • An hour or so later I got a severe stock browser lockup that stopped the whole phone

the often discussed one where no buttons work except perhaps power in a very delayed manner... screen dims at the correct interval but never sleeps and you can't wake phone up. Most people give up here and battery pull after a few mins. However in my experience the phone does come back to life after a lot of time and button pressing.

  • Plugged in USB but 'no devices'
  • Was patient and it came back, as soon as it did I started logging and you can see apps restarting in the log
  • Then I was able to "simulate" the problem again whilst still logging

I say "simulate" because I had another severe lockup loading the same page but perhaps only 90% as bad because adb kept working and it didn't last as long

  • I switched off WiFi and tried to load the page again on 3G immediately and it loaded fine, you can see the switch and load in the log
  • I switched back to WiFi and the page loaded fine but perhaps also from cache? Either way it loaded.
  • The last log I got way back on Fr3 showed there was a race condition for memory (RAM) until it ran out <3MB completely, this one is quite different.

The log is looooong and linked below but the good thing is that webkit debugging is still in verbose mode in this ROM (Paul can you turn that down to info/error mode?) so you can actually see the page load (from about line 1200 on) element by element but you also see why the system falls over...

Full log is attached here, it's 30,000 rows, a little too big for pastebin...

I did that. Can "Battery Calibration" app be the cause?

in Quadrant im getting constantly 3200-3300 points

Woah thats high. Hmmm all these bugs and problems seems to be the kernel problem then. The kernel increased the speed. Hmmm is the voltage table set right in the kernel? The battery drain could be cause of this

With fr12 I get 3.3k as standard on a normal rom, I get 4.1k with fear rom clocked at 1.3ghz, its important to to remember that quadrant lumps all benchmarks in one, and the big reason it scores so much higher is the formating thats used

I can no longer send or receive texts using Fr14, that is, they are actually being sent and I _can_ receive them, but the sms application no longer stores them. I'm reverting to Fr13 to see if it remains..
