Orange SF over priced on ebay

I am an Aussie user who recently purchased SF from ebay. (Although its still shipping :D )

This 'meant to be 99pounds' device is far over priced on ebay saying that they have already done all the unlocking + adroid updates.

They are selling average 125pounds - 140pounds plus extra shipping. (which adds around 15pounds) making good profit :(

I guess there are people like me from the other side of the world who wants this great device but the only

way to get their hands on is via ebay and I am sure people will not like to pay 50%+ more because they dont live in Britain.

I already bought mine from ebay but I want others to get there devices without feeling they got ripped off!

Any of you know any resonalbly priced online malls shipping international?

Orange website do not ship outside britain AND they dont even accept international credit cards :D

A seller can sell the item for as much as they want, it is a recommended retail price, not a must be retail price.

No one is getting ripped off, because the money isnt being taken from the buyer. If a buyer chooses to pay that amount, then claims they have been ripped off, they are pretty stupid right?

yeah and I am that stupid one lol I knew the price before I paid so I am not really complaining (plus I didnt want to go through the learn, fail, try, and repeat process to run Froyo)

but I thought there could be a better place to buy this thing for those who lives in the other side.

Although one could buy it for less with discounts here and there and could sell the sim/top up voucher for more money,

you would agree that the cost is generally around 100 pounds?

If that is the cost then he is not making much if he sells for 125 pounds because ebay fee would eat up 6-8%, and paypal will also take away 3-4%. For him to make a decent profit he would have to buy the phone for 70-80 pounds which can be realistic, but not everyone can buy at that price all the time.

And I am afraid ebay is pretty much the easiest (and probably the cheapest) way to buy one if you are not in a country that sells the phone, unless you have a friend.

Even for a friend to buy it for you it will still cost you the shipping cost, the total cost of which is not far away from what you pay on ebay, and you then owe him a favour.

BTW if you are not up learning the phone can be problem.

Orange are only shipping to the UK since these are probably subsidised devices, and if you're abroad you're obviously not going to use their network.

As someone else said, by the time you factor in ebay/paypal costs, and the time/hassle and increased risk when selling abroad, there really isn't that much profit. If £125 was extortionate, somebody would undercut on ebay and shift them quicker, but it isn't too bad.

Shame you cant sell on here, I was going to sell mine on Ebay but you get messed around so much. Plus you have to sell for a bit more to cover ebay and paypal fees- hate giving them so much money.

This was the cheapest SF from ebay (who can post overseas) Selling at 134.99 pounds. Plus 9.9pounds shipping.

If around 10% is deducted They are still making a reasonable profit? (Which they have to do, otherwise no point of selling)

Like I said before, I do not mind ebay price as I already got one from there anyway, but I just want to see if there are other places whos knows

how to make same profit but at a cheaper price. I am sure there are.

I went to Oz last year, the weather was crap. The people were either great or horrible (with big chips on their shoulders) & they had a fetish for Apple gadgets. Couldn't find the famous yellow brick road though.
