Different Screen/Key Behaviour Between CM7 & Froyo

Firstly well done to the CM7 development team for all their hard work which is much appreciated and admired by most people here. Also a thank you to the very many of you who take your time to test and fault find this software to provide the feedback which helps iron out the bugs.

I have an observation which probably isn’t significant but perhaps someone can explain why things happen slightly differently with CM 7 to Froyo i.e. JJ & FLB.

When I use Screen Mode Widget it has three settable screen states:-

1.AutoLock: device will lock screen.

2.EasyUnlock: device will not screen lock but will dim.

3.ScreenStay: Screen will not lock and never dim.

The Autolock & ScreenStay work the same for all ROMs but the EasyUnlock works slightly differently for the two types of ROM. With Froyo and EasyUnlock set the scrren goes off after time out but restores by pressing any of the three buttons at the bottom of the screen. With CM7 you have to press the power button and this restores the screen and takes you straight back to the application you have running (no lock).

Does this mean the key mapping function is handled differently between the two types of ROM?
