Guest EazyDuz Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 (edited) So ive been following the guide stickied to the point where it says about backing up your stock ROM. So i do, i name it 'original orange'. The phone then resets, i go back on recovery manager and it wont open, nor will androot. Reset phone to factory settings and formatted memory card, reinstalled and the same thing is happening. Have i ruined my phone? Basically got to this point: # Hit the Firmware tab # Hit the MENU button on your device and choose Update Database # If you want to make a complete backup of your entire phone : use the option Backup Current Firmware - this will put a FULL backup of your device onto the SDCard (in a directory called clockwork) Made a backup name something like 'original orange', as soon as i did that, the phone reboots and now androot and recovery manager wont work. Need advice soon before i take it back for an exchange Edited March 30, 2011 by EazyDuz

Guest Michealtbh Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) I think changing the name can make the md5 sum mismatch. You can regenerate the md5 sum, google "nandroid md5 mismatch" and you'll find a guide somewherei Edit just realized this isn't the main problem. Try returning your phone to stock using tpt Edited March 31, 2011 by Michealtbh
Guest EazyDuz Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Nevermind, done it and using a new ROM :D. Basically i re-downloaded rec manager and androot onto my laptop and put them on SD card and its all working. I dont understand why the files i originally downloaded did work, but then wouldnt open on the phone. Even replacing them with the same files which were kept on the laptop didnt work, i had to download them fresh onto my laptop again.
